PLTC and Cancer Institute of New
Mexico Honor Physician
As a People’s Caring Award Recipient
People Living Through Cancer Inc.
and the Cancer Institute of New Mexico honored Patrick H.
Judson, M.D., a physician with the Cancer Institute, as one
of five People’s Caring Award recipients. Bernadette
Lujan, PLTC executive director, and Bob Mallin, M.D., a PLTC
board member, formally presented the award to Dr. Judson in
a ceremony on May 9, 2007.
The awards recognize the indomitable spirit of caregivers
such as Dr. Judson, who has been described as “a living,
breathing model of empathy, support and respect for cancer
survivors and their families.” Dr. Judson, 56, moved
to New Mexico in 2004 after 14 years as an Army physician
and 10 years in North Platte, Neb.
